The Royal Darwin Show has been around since 1951. They are held at the Darwin Showgrounds, Tate Place, Winnellie NT 0820. This year we are celebrating the 69th Royal Darwin show. The show is run by the Royal agricultural society of the northern territory and is the popular showcase of quality farming and production in the state. Over 20,000 people visit the show each year and come from across the country to view and participate in art, cooking photography and horticulture competitions. Another drawcard is the entertainment and famous sideshow alley, where all ages can be entertained. Show bags are extremely popular and can be purchased at the Royal Darwin Show there is a variety of over 300 different showbags on offer including Cadbury, Confectionary and popular novelty brands.
In 2020, due to COVID-19, this event has been unfortunately cancelled. We look forward to a big show in 2021 & 2022 to celebrate 70 years! The show must go on! Darwin Show public holiday is usually on the last or second-last Friday in July. The Royal Darwin Show runs from 9 am to 10 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is a holiday for the documented region of Darwin.
