About the Show

Established in 1839, the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia has for 181 years fostered and encouraged the rural industries of South Australia. The Society’s Shows were originally held in central Adelaide, then shifted to land adjacent to the Botanic Park and, when the University of Adelaide expanded, moved, in 1925, to Wayville. Run annually by the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA, the Royal Adelaide Show is the longest-running event on the South Australian calendar.
