Finally, Queensland’s beloved Ekka show is back, bridging the gap between the city and the country.

This iconic show began in 1876 and is brimming with traditions, a unique atmosphere and childhood memories passed down through generations of families for everyone to enjoy.

The fond nickname ‘Ekka’ was extracted from ‘Exhibition’ in the Queensland vocabulary, revealing how intrinsically popular the show is with residents.

This show has been on three exceptions – 1919 due to the Spanish Flu epidemic, 1942 as the showgrounds were required for World War II and 2020/2021 due to the (COVID-19) pandemic. Get ready to see the very best of Queensland, as it is the largest annual event and the perfect time for people to see what life on the farm is like!

With over 300 activities, more than 21,000 competition entries, 10,000 animals, world-class live entertainment, award-winning food and wine, carnival rides and games, family shopping, and educational opportunities, it is unlikely anyone will be bored. There truly is entertainment for everyone, including the country music showdown, fashions on the field, stockwhip challenge and much more.

Fireworks, animals, kids gardening and agricultural activities, live music, and everything else you would expect from a top-notch show is there (and more)

The infamous sideshow alley is packed with games, activities, and sweet treats. Did we also mention our showbags will also be there?!
